Responsibilities:

18 hours a week of teaching male and/or female high school graduates
Participation in professional development and research
Service to both the ABP and the wider PI community

Minimum Requirements:

Requirements specific to the Lectureship positions:

Earned Master’s degree from well-recognized university in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, ELT or related field 
Native or native-like speaker of English
Minimum of 3years EFL teaching experience at tertiary level. Expertise in teaching TOEFL and/or IELTS considered a plus
Experience in teaching Middle-Eastern learners
Excellent health (selected candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment medical examination)

Basic Function:

The Academic Bridge Program Advisor is responsible to support Academic Bridge Program students in their growth and development by developing meaningful educational plans that are compatible with student goals.

Worked Performed:

Understand and clarify Arts and Science departmental expectations including placement tests and courses; maintain knowledge of all the degree offerings. 
Evaluate students’ performance and identify those who require special attention and guidance; seek to develop a trusted relationship with them.
Proactively seek contact and be available for students on a regular basis; post and maintain office hours for student consultation.
Assist in understanding students’ concerns and assist with initial adjustment to university academic life.
Assist in identifying recurring student concerns and suggest ways to resolve them either in groups or individual advising sessions.
Work with Academic Bridge Program students to recognize and achieve their academic goals by providing them with guidance and information about possible options and consequences of their academic decisions.
Monitor and follow-up on student progress against goals by regularly meeting with students to discuss grades and other performance indicators. 
Monitor and closely follow-up on students with any report of unsatisfactory performance; e.g. poor attendance, low grades, etc.
Refer students to the Company Counselors and/or external counseling institutions in case where students portray the need for special personal and professional attention.
Reinforce the purpose and relationship between both educational program and career.
Record and maintain database of student advising and performance. 
Participate in fostering a culture of highest ethical standards, compliance with external and internal policies and procedures, regulations, and effective business practices in the university.
Perform other tasks and duties that may be, from time to time, required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field.
Post graduate degree is a plus.
Minimum three years of experience in student academic advising or related field.
Strong understanding of student academic needs and concerns. 
Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills; can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic.
Enthusiastic and energetic about the Company’s mission to provide high quality engineering and science professionals through a continued commitment to excellence.

Basic Function:

The Senior Lecturer is responsible for delivering high quality teaching and student support on designated programs in line with the Company’s academic standards and curricula. The incumbent contributes to the design and development of the course curriculum and material, supporting the Company in becoming the preeminent and preferred university in the region.

Worked Performed:

Deliver a range of programs at various levels to ensure high quality teaching and assessment compliant with the quality and educational standards and regulations of the program, the university and, where relevant, external regulators.
Contribute to the design, planning and development of high-quality course curriculum and materials to promote learning.
Support students in acquiring the knowledge and skills required by Companies as appropriate.
Design and communicate course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements to students and department.
Prepare lectures and seminars and teach classes according to an approved course syllabus.
Follow up on student progress, provide feedback to students and make suggestions to the Director of Academic Bridge Program/Head of English on improvements to the curriculum in line with the objectives of the Company.

Identify students' learning styles in each class and apply appropriate teaching methodologies during class in order to provide intellectually stimulating classes and facilitate the most appropriate teaching and learning situations. 
Act as an academic advisor to assigned students by aiming to maximize learning opportunities, challenging students, resolving any issues, and appropriately retaining students. 
Recommend textbooks and other learning material as appropriate to enhance student learning experiences.
Post and maintain office hours for student consultation at reasonable times.
Attend all faculty meetings, professional development, orientation activities, and other meetings as requested by the Director of Academic Bridge Program/Head of English.
Contribute to the creation of an intellectual atmosphere at the University by attending seminars, workshops, etc.
Develop internal networks within the Company and partner universities, by participating in committees for example, in order to promote a collaborative university community.
Contribute to the accreditation process within the programas appropriate.

Department Description:

The Company aspires to create a world-class research institution with the main emphasis to support and advance oil, gas and energy industries. The strong financial support of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC)  Group and its subsidiaries, as well as four major international oil companies, BP, Shell, JODCO and TOTAL, provide a teaching and research environment that is unique in the resources and potential that the Company enjoys. Research activities are well integrated into the educational system and are expressly designed to serve the R & D needs of ADNOC Group and its subsidiaries. The campus has modern instructional laboratories and classroom facilities and state-of-the-art research laboratories and centers, such as Company Research Center.

Brief Posting Description:

The chemical engineering faculty members play a major role in interdisciplinary research and collaborate actively in joint research projects through the Company standing agreements with partner universities (e.g. University of Minnesota, University of Maryland, Colorado School of Mines, Rice University, University of Texas - Austin, China University of Petroleum - Beijing, and Johannes Kepler University at Linz - Austria).
Research in the department of chemical engineering is supported by state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment. Minimum Requirements:

A postdoctoral position is currently available in the field of Combustion at the Company in Abu Dhabi. Candidates should have a PhD with expertise in flame/reactor simulation and experiments, and reaction mechanism development using quantum calculations in Gaussian. Candidates having MS degree with at least three years of relevant experience may also be considered. 

We are particularly interested in candidates with the following qualities: 

Good knowledge of and research experience in flame modelling and simulation, reaction mechanism development, quantum chemical calculations, and design of experiments for model validation.
Experience with software such as Gaussian and Chemkin
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively 
Excellent oral and written communication skills 
A good track record of research publications 
The successful candidate will develop models and reaction mechanism for gas processing/combustion units in the fields of the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. 
He/ She will also be responsible for supervising some graduate students in the area of combustion

Position Description:

Successful candidates will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses, develop and sustain a research program in their area of expertise, write scholarly publications, advise graduate and undergraduate students, and work collegially in support of the continuing growth of the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Company.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering or in a closely related field. It is preferred that the candidate has an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering. Previous teaching at the university level and industrial experience in process engineering would be decided advantages.
