Assistant Professor (Petroleum Engineering) (Academic)

Basic Function:
• The Assistant Professor will collaborate with faculty members to create a vibrant university community that will positively impact and contribute to the development of the region by tapping into collective intellect. They will work closely to inspire and develop students so that they have the skills knowledge and attitudes to succeed in their studies and beyond. The Assistant Professor is responsible for the delivery of courses in line with Company’s academic standards and curricula. This position is expected to support teaching and research programs in line with the university’s strategy of the respective department and Company. They have a direct role in contributing to Company in becoming the preeminent and preferred technological university in the region. This is typically an entry level appointment.
Worked Performed:
• Support Company students to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for success.
• Deliver high quality teaching through a variety of instructional strategies and technologies in order to foster active student learning at the undergraduate level and, when applicable, at the graduate level.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Contribute to the relevant program’s continuous improvement process
• Actively engage in research and scholarly activity and contribute to the Company research profile.
• Publish research through the preparation and submission of journal and conference papers and participation in academic conferences.
• Participate in graduate students thesis and/or capstone design committees
• Participate in academic and administrative committees.
• Perform other institutional tasks and duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:
• Earned Ph.D. Degree from an accredited university in a relevant discipline.
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
• Proven research potential.
• Potential for attracting research grants.
• Ability to conduct high quality and original research, publish the results in scholarly journals, and present at peer conferences in area(s) of specialization.
• Effective communication skills, ability to demonstrate knowledge in a logical manner, skilled at presenting thoughts, ideas, and specifications orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with diverse groups, cultures, and communities.
• Fluent in English, Arabic is desirable.
