Control Engineer (Automation)

Basic Function:
• Identifies Automation opportunities in field sites to improve Company work process or with HSE benefits, prepares business cases supported by the key stakeholders, and guides the implementation of those solutions. Some solutions will be based on the utilization of Company's OSI PI infrastructure, Maximo Oil and Gas Support broader asset implementations of new hardware and DOFD and ITD implementations of new applications. This role will be key to the interfaces between DOFD, Control Engineering in DED and end users at field sites.
Worked Performed:
• Understands the offshore operational activities in Company Brownfield and Green Field sites in terms of Control and Safety Systems, the major system components / product's from Company principal vendors, ABB, Honeywell, Schneider (Telvent) and Yokogawa.
• Understands the relationships between OSI PI and Maximo Oil, gas and the control engineering solutions at Company. Supports the DOFD team in control system issues.
• Understands the Company OSI PI system, its role in supporting the control engineering and operations community across Company. Liaises with DED on its evolution as required, and in its interfacing to the new filed Yokogawa local Historian's.
• Works with site and HQ end users in the Assets and DED, and identifies areas of potential improvement, both through deeper application of existing tools, potential use of new tools.
• Supports Corporate Planning and DED in reviews of new modification and upgrade plans to ensure hardware consistency with DOFD strategy. Ensures new projects kept aligned with new tag additions and end use of OSI Pl. Works with real time engineers supporting OSI PI to ensure new projects gain the benefit of existing infrastructure.
• Supports HSE and DED in the implementation of Emission Monitoring System and transmission of environmental performance data from OSI PI to Company.
• Works with DOF and the RE teams and Operations, in the development and supports for high level applications platform for reservoir optimization and well surveillance monitoring. Supports the tendering and implementation process.
• Leads by example in communicating the HSE impact of engineering design. Supports the adoption of modem industry digital standards in Company.
• Promotes the vision of the Digital Oilfield as an approach to improve reservoir recovery, safe and efficient operation at Company. Keep Company DOFD aware of control engineering and APC Technology issues.
• Works in line with HSE policy and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant Control Engineering Discipline or similar equivalent.
• 5-6 years of experience including a range of roles in Control Engineering and IT. Drilling or Production technology and projects experience would be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of computer applications and IT systems in multiple domains.
• A good understanding of the principles, strategies and sources of value from Digital Oilfield initiatives in multiple areas.
• Good understanding and practical experience of multi discipline collaboration.
• Proficient in written/ spoken English, communication and interpersonal skills.
