Professor (Petroleum Engineering) (Academic)

Basic Function:
• The Professor shall engage in research, scholarship and creative activities, teach, ,and provide service to the institution in line with Company’s academic standards. The Professor will collaborate with faculty members and senior leadership to create a vibrant university community that will positively impact and contribute to the development of the company as well as the wider region by tapping into collective intellect. They will work collaboratively with staff and faculty members to help students develop the required knowledge, skills and attitudes for success in their studies and beyond.
Worked Performed:
• Ensure that Company students acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for success.
• Competently deliver high quality teaching through a variety of instructional strategies and technologies in order to foster active student learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Contribute to the development of graduate and undergraduate curricula.
• Contribute to continuing education programs.
• Provide and enhance academic advising and mentoring to students.
• Strong leadership role in the relevant program’s continuous improvement process and institutional strategic planning
• Lead and coordinate research and scholarly activity that effectively contributes to the Company research profile.
• Publish research through the preparation and submission of high impact journal and conference papers and participation in international academic conferences.
• Demonstrate strong international reputation evidenced through invited talks, Keynote addresses, and the significance of their scholarly and creative achievements.
• Mentor and supervise junior faculty and research associates.
• Chair graduate students thesis and/or capstone design committees
• Assume leadership roles on academic and administrative committees at both the program and the institutional levels.
• Perform other institutional tasks and duties as required.

Worked Performed:
• Earned PhD degree from an accredited university in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum seven years of post-doctorate experience in research, academia, or industry.
• Outstanding record of teaching, research, and scholarly activities
• Outstanding record of securing research funding.
• Evidence of national and international professional recognition.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise junior faculty and research associates.
• Evidence of successful leadership of research groups.
• Evidence of active contribution in curriculum development.
• Ability to produce high quality and original research, publish the results in scholarly journals, and present it at internationally renowned conferences in a particular area(s) of specialization.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to demonstrate knowledge in a logical manner, skilled at presenting thoughts, ideas, and specifications orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with diverse groups, cultures, and communities.
• Enthusiastic and energetic about Company’s mission to provide high quality engineering and science professionals through a continued commitment to excellence in service.
• Ability to provide ongoing constructive feedback and learning opportunities, through formal or informal methods, in order to develop the ability of others to perform effectively and contribute to the organization.
• Ability to assume authority, responsibility, and accountability.
• Fluent in English, Arabic is desirable.
