• Senior Lab Technician - Polymer Lab
• A senior laboratory Technician is currently available at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Company, Abu Dhabi, and UAE.
Detailed Description:
• The successful candidate will be responsible for running and maintaining the polymer laboratories and assisting in teaching the polymer laboratory courses as well as helping in setting up a new polymer laboratory. Polymer laboratories at the Company currently consist of polymer processing lab and polymer characterization and testing lab. These two labs are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for polymer processing and characterization. In addition, a polymer chemistry lab is being set up. These laboratories are used for both teaching polymer courses and running research in the area of polymer processing and polymer nanocomposites. The research projects are sponsored by the Company’s industrial sponsors and in collaboration with partner universities such as University of Minnesota, University of Maryland, Colorado Schools of Mines, and Johannes Kepler University Linz.
Minimum Requirements:
• Candidates should have a minimum of B.S. /M.S. degree in Polymer Science and Engineering. Applicants with an M.S. in closely related fields such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science and relevant experience in using polymer processing and characterization equipment will also be considered.
• BS/MS degree in Polymer Science and Engineering or an MS degree in closely related areas such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• Strong background in polymer processing and characterization
• Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate students during their polymer laboratory courses and polymer research
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
