Senior Drilling Engineer (Completion & Well Testing)

Basic Function:
• Manage well delivery with a full life cycle approach and offer full services on all aspects of well construction. Evaluate well designs and advise on the development of cost-effective wells. Oversea and prepare field development plans, scope and cost and evaluate well viability. Also to incorporate well design, completions, drilling performance, new technology applications, multi-discipline studies and project management. Provide detailed technical and operational Well Test & Well Intervention Engineering support as part of an integrated team supporting the CWI Team Leader/Manger, Production Technologists and Senior Well Engineers on the rig site. Occasional visits to the Company field operations for preparatory work.
Worked Performed:
• Supervising completion and activities on the rig including planning and executing activities related to completions onshore gas project.
• Integrate and liaise with other disciplines to ensure efficient and effective execution of Well Testing & Well Intervention work programmes.
• Design and implement completions design, coil tubing operations, Fracturing Operations.
• Provide updates (as necessary) to the well delivery teams on failure analysis plans, progress, results, conclusions & recommendations.
• Tool and equipment application/operation recommendations are the focus of these updates so that repeat failures can be avoided
• Identifying and mitigate risks in drilling, completion and well intervention operations.
• Overseeing completion operations and well intervention logistics (equipment, manpower, materials).
• Working closely with drilling, subsurface teams, and vendors in planning and executing work.
• Maximizing the rig team performance by building an enabling environment where everyone has the freedom to contribute, challenge and participate.
• Documenting cost and time performance vs. agreed targets through daily well reporting.
• Reviewing troubled or underperforming wells and recommending remedial solutions to restore well productivity.
• Safe completion of projects within planned cost and time goals.
• Project cost management and the accuracy of morning reports and cost data
• Acting as lead role for drilling for Health, Safety and Environmental efforts including contractor safety management and incident investigation.
• Innovation in operational practices with the ability to implement new technology
• Conducting periodic well integrity performance reviews for management.
Minimum Requirements:
• B. Sc. Engineering degree preferred (or equivalent) and have a solid background in the oil and gas industry.
• Minimum of 15+ years experience in, completion design, coil tubing operations, fracturing operations and H2S as a Completions Engineer preferred.
- Coil Tubing experience in horizontal wells
- Fracturing design and implementation
- Field experience in implementing coil tubing and fracturing operations
• Proven experience in drilling and completion programmes and follow-ups, and be adept at working as part of a team - managing the performance of more junior engineers.
• Experience with failure analysis, Completions operational experience preferred
