Senior Safety Advisor

Basic Function:
• Senior Safety Advisor is a key supervisory role within the Company HSE Organization reporting directly to the Corporate Head of Occupational Health and Safety. The position has a key role in providing specialist Safety oversight on Company HSE activities carried out.
• The scope of the Senior Safety Advisor includes the coordination, supervision and providing direct, day-to-day Safety Oversight on all Company activities and regularly interfaces with the Project Management Contractor (PMC) & Engineer Project Contractor (EPC) HSE personnel.
Worked Performed:
• Ensuring compliance by all parties with Company’s Safety requirements and regulations and all relevant legislation and statutory requirements, including all laws, rules and regulations (as amended from time to time) of the governments of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
• Ensuring that all Safety activities are executed in a safe and quality manner and recommending improvements in working practices that will reduce the risk of incidents.
• Providing professional direction, guidance and support to the site based Safety Inspectors as required.
• Actively supporting the development and realization of a positive, value-centered culture, shared by our contractors and focused on excellence.
• Ensuring that all actions, works and services undertaken by EPC contractor, are in accordance with the respective Agreement with company.
• Ensuring compliance with company’s objectives, requirements, priorities, policies, procedures, standards, rules, regulations and guidelines provided by Company from time to time.
• Reviewing and commenting on Project Safety deliverables.
• Monitoring the Company & construction activities and making sure that these are executed as per the HSE plan and procedures.
• Supporting the development and execution of the Company HSE Plans.
• Support the identification of Safety Hazards, evaluation of risks for all activities and development of the tools to manage and reduce these risks.
• Participating in and/or reviewing the various Risk Assessments
• Ensuring that projects Safety programs and procedures are implemented reviewed and improved as needed including Contractors and Vendors.
• Participating in incident control duties during major accident emergencies or drills
• Supporting the development and implementation of an HSE Learning & Development Process for project team members.
• Ensuring the implementation of and participating in the execution of the project non conformance and incident investigation processes.
• Ensuring leading and trailing Safety performance measures are developed, compiled, maintained and reported.
• Ensuring periodic Safety Audits and Inspections are conducted in accordance with risk based schedules.
• Providing input into the collection of lessons learned for the project.
• Assisting in various training & awareness programs that will be implemented to raise the awareness of H2S risk amongst the workforce.
Minimum Requirements:
• University Degree in safety, health, environment, technical, scientific, or related engineering field from an accredited university.
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience in the oil/gas industry with experience in high H2s fields a distinct advantage.
• Has clearly demonstrated strong HSE competence with strong supervisory skills.
• Ability to work in a diverse cultural environment.
