Senior Drilling Supervisor

Senior Drilling Supervisor

Basic Function:

Directs, supervises and control all activities related to drilling and work over operations carried out by contractors/service companies on assigned rig. 
Directs and supervises the implementation of various operational programmes including proposing and executing amendments to approval programmes in response to changing operational parameters. 
Ensures adherence to the Company’s Health Safety & Environmental Protection policies and safety management system as applicable to rig operation. 
Monitors all supply activities of Company materials and equipment to ensure economic and cost effective utilization.

Worked Performed:

Drilling Operations:

Plans and supervises the execution of all drilling department operational programs at the assigned drill site covering drilling, work over, well completion and related activities of contractors and/or services companies.
Joint ownership of the drilling program with the Drill ling Engineer translating into operational activities and conducts detailed observation and inspection of contractors activities onsite.
Reviews programmes in light of work progress, proposes and implements minor amendments to approved programmes in light of unforeseen operations requirements.
Ensure that opportunities for improvement are identified and acted upon.
Communicate as necessary with Senior Drilling Operations Manager and Drilling Department Engineers on Daily reports, updates, issues and management of change to program.

Work Control:

Supervises operational performance of Contractor/Service company personnel involved in the provision of technical/operations at the drill.
Monitors execution of drilling programmes, reviews and reports on progress arranges administrative support such as accommodation and transportation of personnel and equipment.
Investigates required supplies order materials/equipment from Company stores and occasionally, request manufacturing/procurement of other requirements such as crossover…etc. to carry out the drilling program.
Control and ensures the economic consumption and safe utilization of Company supplies materials and equipment at the drill site.
Ensures safe return of equipment and surplus materials to Company’s stores upon completion of related operations.
On Scene Commander for emergency response in drill site related activities.

Technical Input:

Prepares the daily progress report including daily recording and tracking of drill site operating cost and supplies.
Holds pre-job meetings with concerned contractors/service companies personnel to highlight potential hazards and to advice on preventive measures.
Liaise with designated Construction or Production person for site handover at the beginning or end of Drilling Department activities at each location.
Person in Charge in all emergencies encountered during operations at drill site or during related Rig moves as per Company established policy.

H.S.E. Role:

Ensures compliance to HSE policies at the drill site and site related facilities such as Rig Camp.
Reports and investigates incidents and participate in making necessary recommendations for improvement.
Ensures that safety equipment and systems are maintained in efficient operating conditions.
Ensures that contractors are fully aware and adhere to all company’s procedures, policies and standards. 
Carries out planned inspection and self auditing to ensure plant and equipment are properly maintained.
Conducts group safety meetings for contractor’s key personnel on the rig.
Conducts emergency drills and exercises at the drill site.
Maintains an Action Opportunities Log complete with assigned parties and closure dates. Records and shares lesson learnt.

Subsidiary Activities:

Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as checking and approving job tickets, participating in contractor performance review, or performing site visits to contractors facilities for inspections.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering
10 Years experience in drilling operations, 4 years of which should be in onshore drilling
Good knowledge of English.

Senior Contracts Engineer

Basic Function:

Plans, supervises and controls a day-to-day activities of Drilling Contracts Section including: following up the Drilling Division contracts validity, available funds and performance.

Review (with Management) scope of work, contract strategy, objectives and invitation to Tender (ITI) for new tenders jointly with Drilling Job Officers and thereafter participating in technical evaluation of various submitted offers with Job Officers. Ensures all contracts are extended or tendered on target dates.
Establishes adequate measures to monitoring contacts available funds and make necessary actions to ensure funds available throughout contract duration.
Coordinates with Commercial Division (Contracts) actions required for resolving pending disputes and represent Drilling Division together with Drilling Job Officers in the preparation of the enquiry of new tenders. Participates in the negotiation meetings with Commercial Division Contracts Team and the Bidders.
Follows up and co-ordinates the allocation of major contracted services on various Rigs/Locations on monthly basis.
Defines and Implements key indicators to monitor contractor performance on quarterly basis. Issues contracts close out (end of contract performance evaluation) jointly with Job Officers) and puts forward recommendation for management directives. Ensures the proper implementation of contractual terms and conditions.
Monitors all aspects of contracting process implemented by Commercial Division and provides recommendations for modifications/ improvement. Provides all technical and statistical support related to Drilling Contracts to all Drilling Teams. Provides advice and assistance in all matters related to upgrading and standardization of Drilling Contract documents for new contracts.
Formulates, jointly with Job Officers, divisional standpoint in dispute/claim cases over interpretation and performance of drilling contracts and presents it officially to Contracts Division for action.
Knows Company Health, Safety and Environment policy HSE procedures, regulations as they relate to his area of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Minimum 8-9 years experience in drilling engineering & operations & services with sound knowledge of Drilling/Work over operations and Drilling Contracted Services.
Very good knowledge of English.

Basic Function:

To Carries out condition monitoring of rotating equipment and steam traps and carries out performance tests and acceptance of rotary equipment.

Background:

The Condition Monitoring Technician A(HBM/RC1) Reports to Condition Monitoring Supervisor (HBM/RC).

The job incumbent performs the duty of data collection as per the routine daily schedule by using dedicated data collectors/analysers, Machinery Management system data acquisition units for rotating equipment and data collection for steam traps. Executing regular inspection, commissioning, and testing and acceptance procedure for rotating equipment. To identify abnormality by simple analysis of data and report to superiors. Carries out Baroscopic inspection on large rotary equipment like steam & gas turbines. Review all operating parameters and follow up action as advised. Carries out similar or related duties as assigned, such as assisting in, or carrying out modifications or the installation of new equipment and machinery, observing good housekeeping and work practices on-site and assisting during start-up and shut down of critical equipment as requested.

Worked Performed:

To work as Rotating Equipment Inspector for acceptance after major overhaul of small, medium and large rotary equipment such as motors, pumps, fans, blowers, gearboxes, compressors, steam and gas turbines and turbo expanders. 
To carry out daily inspection and predictive maintenance checks on rotating machinery such as compressors, pumps, gas and steam turbines, blowers, motors as defined by computer maintenance management system. (Maximo), attending other abnormalities being raised by Operations. 
To performs Condition Monitoring by checking vibrations, temperatures and pressures, checking oils levels and flows reporting Condition Monitoring Supervisor where readings are outside tolerable limits. 
To carry out Baroscopic inspection on large rotary equipment like steam & gas turbines and other rotating equipment when needed. 
To steam traps mapping, surveillance, traps analysis and raising work orders & generate reports. 
To daily review and checking of on line monitoring system (Bently Nevada Machinery Monitoring System, Machinery Condition Monitoring and Performance Monitoring) on critical machinery for abnormalities and reporting exceptions to Condition Monitoring Supervisor. Maintaining/ updating history of rotating equipment. 
To checks that that routine maintenance of machinery and equipment is carried out as required by Maintenance Technicians to ensure smooth running of machinery and equipment. Determines if major equipment or sub-assemblies have to be removed to the workshop for major repairs or overhaul and follow up of equipment repair status. 
To carry out inspection, counter check/acceptance of rotary equipment alignment, motor no load run performance at workshop and at site, commissioning and acceptance of rotary equipment after any repairs. Checks that required repairs, replacements and alignments are correctly carried out, and equipment after re-assembly in accordance with requirements. 
To site acceptance of new equipment based on no load/ load run performance in the project. Releasing punch list for abnormalities of rotating equipment in the project, confirming punch list items after execution by contracts. 
To operates computer terminal and associated auxiliary devices to perform condition monitoring and vibration checks, raising work orders for abnormalities in Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) after reviewed/approved by Condition Monitoring Supervisor/ Rotating Equipment Section Head. 

Minimum Requirements:

Adequate CMMMS knowledge - ISO Vibration Diagnostics Skills - Thermography survey condition monitoring - Online and Offline Condition Monitoring - Lube Oil Analysis.
Technical Diploma / Related / minimum 5 years Experience - Electrical Gear Condition Monitoring - Ultrasound Surveys.

Basic Function:

To provide planning expertise for maintenance of plant equipment including major turn rounds and shutdowns and associated projects.

Background:

Planning Engineer reports to Planning Section Head in the Engineering/Maintenance Department.
The planning section is a focal point for supervising and controlling planning/scheduling activities for Rotating Equipment, Electrical /Control, Workshop & Static Equipment a etc. and to provides support to engineering sections.
The Planning Section generates and issues PM Plans for Mechanical, Electrical, Control, Condition Monitoring, Fire & Gas, Vehicles, Heavy Lifts and Mobile Equipment. It has a vital role in planning, preparing, organizing and controlling the planned turnarounds, shutdowns, and maintenance of static and rotating equipment in the plant.
The planner is a key person in these activities and is responsible for continuous improvement in day to day/shutdown cost effective planning/scheduling and providing support to engineering sections. It is a major challenge to maintain and improve efficiency of the NGL complex by a timely planning/scheduling and follow up of preventive and planned maintenance to avoid any unforeseen breakdown of plant equipment and keep the plant running in a safe manner.

Worked Performed:

To review/issue daily Maintenance schedules and verify that the work orders received in Maximo from different areas have been scheduled according to their priorities and resources availability. ( 50- 80 work orders are handled on daily basis.)
To prepare/issue 2-weekly planning schedule detailing schedule start and schedule finish date with tag numbers in MS-Projects graphics.
To generate, issue and follow up of Preventive Maintenance Monthly Plan consisting of approximately 300 work orders for plant maintenance, and issue Monthly PM Reports.
To monitor and analyze major shutdown activities status on daily basis, and emphasizing to schedule/execute critical work in central and area maintenance which could have impact on timely completion of turnaround.
To comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures
To prepare, compile and issue various reports e.g. status reports, weekly, two weekly plans compliance report and monthly maintenance department report, maintenance performance indices report , PSV’S backlog/ statistics reports etc.

Main Challenges:

To improve the awareness and understanding of the MAXIMO system functions so that current problems of under utilization are cured and productivity is improved.

Minimum Requirements:

The Planning Engineer shall meet the below requirements at the minimum:

Shall be an Engineering graduate in any one of the three disciplines Mechanical, Electrical and Control & Instrumentation.
Shall have adequate experience in the field of planning in maintenance related works of which four (04) years must be in the field of maintenance planning as planning engineer.
Well versed with all planning tools likes Visual planner, Primavera, etc..
Good command over English language and good in professional report drafting.
Oil and Gas experience is preferred.
Should have exposure to CMMS system like SAP/ Maximo.
Shall have adequate experience in the field of planning in maintenance related works of which four (04) years must be in the field of maintenance planning as planning engineer.

Basic Function:

Worked Performed:

Plan and Schedule Work Orders as per the Preventive Maintenance policy of Company.
Plan, Resource, Schedule the Corrective Maintenance Work Orders in SAP and ensure timely and safe execution as per Company work procedures and policies.
Update SAP Data Base as applicable to revise planned man-hours, Equipment Bill of Materials, Equipment Technical Data, etc on a continual basis.
Provide technical planning support for Maintenance Division Engineers by producing specific work plans in MS Projects / Primavera.
Produce Daily Maintenance Work Planning Report detailing the Work Orders planned for the day. Provide feedback on the works in progress.
Ensure that all work orders are closed out in SAP with the appropriate Fault Code Statistics and History reporting as per the Maintenance Policy.
Produce a Monthly Report detailing the works carried out during the month and represent statistics on a graphical basis. (Backlog, Productivity and Efficiency KPI)
Plan, Pre Engineer, Schedule and Execute Mini Turnarounds for packaged units like Gas Turbines (HGP, CITP, CI); Nitrogen Plants, Air Compressor Units etc. 
Produce Tick Lists, Work Lists Final Work Pack for Mini Planned Turnarounds.
Produce, follow up and track all constrained WONs like Operational Release, Awaiting Materials etc.
Oversee the activities of assigned personnel in the Electrical section to execute planned and routine maintenance on plant equipment.
Liaise with Operational Division to ensure minimum disruption to the plant facilities and provide feedback on ongoing works on a regular basis.
Assist Major Turnaround Planning Team in execution of works in a Major Turnaround on the LNG Plant.
Use CMMS as a tool to plan work execute and update technical information for analysis and continuous improvement.
Assist in Implementation of RCM, SRCMO, HSECES, RBI, and other Maintenance Improvement initiatives.
Assist to Troubleshoot plant problems, recommend engineering solutions. 
Prepare component/equipment repair procedures.
Produce end of Job Report detailing all required information including cost analysis, Planned and actual man-hours comparison, recommendations for future etc.
Mentor and develop UAE nationals. Identify training needs for site workforce.
Assist in preparation of Operating/Capital budgets and exercise control within close limits.
Participate in HAZOPs, technical reviews, Risk Assessment, Safety Audits, Modifications.
Use new technology advise to optimize resource utilization.

Minimum Requirements:

Aged 35-45.
BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
15 years experience in maintenance and application of electrical equipment associated with the oil refining or Petro-Chemical industry, minimum 10 of which should have been in a supervisory capacity.
Experience of electrical condition monitoring will be an added advantage.
Good knowledge of spoken and written English, with capability of writing technical reports.
