Basic Function:

Develop and support the implementation of cost-effective improvement programs to close gaps and provide assurance across all Plant & Pipeline assets on production related quality and quantity establishing of standards, evaluating gaps, supporting initiatives and a Company wide Centre of Excellence for Production.

Company operates six onshore plants and a Pipeline network and coordinates its production and development closely with ADNOC Group Companies and consumers. The company is continuously going through major development and expansions to increase its processing capacity to meet the high continuous demands for its products, and to cope with the latest development in the gas processing technology. Company’s complexity has increased through addition of new facilities, expansion of its current plants and integration with offshore gas and Dolphin Energy with high priority given to continuously improve & sustain Asset Integrity of aging plants and Process & Occupational Safety. The Principal Operations Engineer activates and supports sites to improve the ways in which Production is carried out across all of Company’s assets in order to increase the Product quality, quantity and efficiency. This includes the provision of expert advice and coaching to develop and support implementation of the changes. The scope of this job relates to, and influences, all of Company’s Operating Plants, Pipeline Networks, Projects and other HQ entities.

The main challenges faced by the job holder are:
Supporting the bringing together of existing processes & practices from throughout Company and work with stakeholders to simplify, standardize and implement new ways of working while leading a team of peers without line authority over key contributors.
Advising on the integration and alignment of new/adjusted ways of working with other processes & practices within Company.
Interfacing and effectively communicating between Assets, Technical Engineering and Projects Divisions in the areas of Production, Product quality and efficiency ensure implementation success.
Gathering and analyzing corporate measures of production excellence and developing solutions for improvement of Production at sites in collaboration with all stakeholders.

Main Accountabilities:

Supervision
Plan, supervision and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Policies, Processes, Systems, Procedures, and Controls
Implement approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.
Performance Management
Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports 
Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Specific Accountabilities:

Policy, Standards Processes and Practices
Developing & establishing consistent approached which deliver improved efficiency and effectiveness across all assets, thereby contributing to the objectives of Production Excellence Department. This includes the management of product measurement, mass balance methods and quality specifications.
Developing, supporting and implementing Company-wide improvement programs of production quality, quantity management activities in order to ensure compliance with Company standards and enable performance visibility.
Supporting the establishment and management of processes whereby production quantity and quality events, opportunities and related risks are reviewed across Company. Identifying the improvement areas and following up mitigating actions in order to ensure that repeated occurrences of similar events are prevented.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Supporting the establishment of a coherent, accurate production measurement process for production quantity and quality to provide a dependable input to the company reporting system (PRISM), thus supporting management decisions.
Investigating production quantity & quality, communicating stakeholders concerns and recommending preventive & corrective actions in relevant areas of production throughout the life cycle of the asset.
Community and Networks
Supporting the establishment of effective networks of internal stakeholders (i.e process owners and subject matter experts) and activate associated governance to maximize the benefit.
Promote a proactive attitude towards Production Excellence, challenging entrenched practices, benchmark against world class Oil and Gas Operators in order to enhance and align with standardized World Class practices.
Providing the expert advice, support and training in relevant areas and act as interface between sites and other entities across Company in order to establish and sustain new ways of working.
Support Category Management activities by developing the required Business cases, screening alternatives and refine the selected alternative into an executable work plan.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering discipline.
8 years or above experience in Plant Operations of which minimum of six (6) years should be in gas plant or refinery operations.
Advanced knowledge/practice in Quality, Business Process and Performance Management systems.
Thorough knowledge of gas extraction and processing plants operations and production engineering principles.
Good experience on Process Simulations and other workplace computer applications.
Gas plants Production process & systems.
Solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
Familiar with Budget, schedule, risk analysis studies and ERP Systems (Preferable MAXIMO).
Full knowledge of HSE in a plant environment.
Attention to detail, Creative and Analytical thinking, Problem solving skills, concern for safety, quality and productivity, Flexibility, Customer Focus, willingness to learn on the job, Teamwork.
