Minimum Requirements:

Basic Function:

Worked Performed:

• Analyses new data obtained from up-to-date seismic surveys utilizing the latest techniques in order to understand the subsurface structures with known hydrocarbon reserves.  Includes updating parameters such s size, depth, closure of structure etc.. Studies new data to determine the existence of any new prospects.

• Generates time (ISOCHRON) maps by taking time readings at specified geological formations and contouring equal values.  Obtains velocity data for various readings from existing wells in specified formation, establishes velocity maps (ISO velocity) accordingly and uses above information to calculate and develops depth maps.  Prepares and updates ‘SHOT-POINT’ location maps based on co-ordination of every seismic shot taken during surveys.

• Identifies potential areas for drilling exploration or delineation (data gathering) well, co-ordinates with geologists and prepares the geophysical proposals for exploration and/or delineation well, accordingly.

• Oversees the processing of geophysical data, as required.  Includes visiting external processing centres, selecting processing parameters and sequences to be applied in assessing seismic sections.  Follows-up with processing centre to ensure the timely receipt of results.  Checks and accepts data submitted by contractors utilizing specialized processing techniques.  Supervises the recording and processing of well velocity surveys conducted in the exploration and/or delineation wells.

• Accompanies survey vessel during seismic operation, as required.  Includes ensuring all terms, conditions and survey specifications are adhered to by contractor.  Checks raw data collected on site to ensure accuracy and quality of data.

• Works in line with HSE policy, rules and regulations.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such; Carrying out adhoc studies to determine justifications for any deviations/anomalies in drilling results, liaising with other OPCOs and/or regional oil companies for the mutual exchange of geophysical data, as requested.

Geological Modelling Advisor

Basic Function:

• Key role in ensuring tools/studies are in place to be used for development well design and planning.

• Primary focus on static and upscaled dynamic simulation models; facies and diagenetic modelling; geomechanics; fluid compositional studies and uncertainty analysis.

Worked Performed:

• Provide geological support to multi-discipline exploitation team. Work to plan and exécute Shah Gas Field appraisal and development wells utilizing 3D seismic and wells database.

• Integrate core/petrographic, geomechanical and seismic data and ensure main learnings are incorporated into the upscaled simulation models and are used in well opérations planning.

• Work closely with Geological Operations and Drilling teams on appraisal and development programs to identify optimal well design & locations for development wells.

• Work closely with the Development Optimisation Adviser using both static and dynamic Simulation models to define strategy and optimisation of well design, preferred well paths and lengths for development drilling program.

• Provides expert level team input for the Subsurface team one or more of the following core geological subjects: Carbonate sedimentology & diagenesi; geomodelling; geomechanics and Well and Reservoir Management (WRM).

Minimum Requirements:

• BSC Geology

• Hands on experience of Petrel and/or Landmark geomodelling software.

• Familiarity with geomodelling work flow, uncertainty analysis, volumetrics estimatation.

• Key understanding of reservoir simulation modelling & uncertainty analysis

• Expert level Geological contribution to the team (one or more of the disciplines described above)

• Minimum 10-15 years technical experience as oil company geologist, preferably with large scale development projects (preferably carbonate reservoir background)

• Good communication and report writing skills

• Full commitment to core value principles (HSE, leadership, people values & ethics.

Basic Function: 

• As a Operations Petrophysical Advisor with the Company project work in a multi-disciplinary asset evaluation team to plan, execute and review logging operations, QC interpretation work by and invoices from contractors, and performs petrophysical interpretation of individual wells as part of Company appraisal program and subsequent development. In addition the function assists in reservoir modelling and field development planning work. 

Worked Performed: 

Contracting 

• Assist in the definition and creation of Scope of Work documentation for Wireline and LWD logging services. 

Operations Petrophysics

• Contribute to well proposal documents by assisting in the definition of well evaluation objectives and the petrophysical logging (tool strings, operational, etc) and possibly coring requirements necessary to deliver on those objectives in a cost effective manner 

• Work closely with drilling and service providers to ensure that adequate data acquisition planning and preparation are in place prior to drilling the well with particular attention to specialist services like MDT, NMR etc. 

• Provide subsurface support to drilling and well services operations. 

• Communicate effectively on progress of operations to allow the right operational decisions to be taken 

• Ensure effective quality control during data acquisition, and any service company post acquisition processing. 

• Provide support for geosteering of horizontal wells in line with well objectives. 

• Provide formation evaluation / petrophysical analysis and during drilling and as part of a final well (petrophysical) report post drilling. 

• Capture work done in comprehensive post-job report. 

• Ensure that all Petrophysical data and reports are properly captured in company archives and databases. 

Minimum Requirements: 

• B.Sc. in Geology, Physics, Petroleum Engineering or equivalent technical subject 

• 5 to 10 years petrophysics operational experience in the oil/gas industry 

• Extensive experience in planning and executing logging programmes 

• Experience with evaluating tight carbonate reservoir environments and exposure to sour gas and or oil developments 

• Skilled in data QA/QC 

• Sound grasp of the latest petrophysical technologies 

• Understanding of value of information concept 

• Strong team player and effective communicator 

• Very good written and spoken English. 

• Good technical report writing skills 

• Previous experience with Techlog petrophysical evaluation package is preferred. 

• Familiar with Petrel 

• Knowledge of HSE risks and how to control these, e.g. in relation to well operations.
