Facilities Safety Engineer (HSE) (Academic)

Basic Function:
• The Facilities Safety Engineer is responsible to ensure the implementation of health and safety requirements, policies and guidelines in Company’s facilities.
Worked Performed:
• Assist in the development and maintenance of a HSE management system that is in compliance with ADNOC Group of Companies Code of Practice.
• Assist in assessing the HSE and sustainability impact of new system projects and major modifications/upgrades on existing facilities at Company; advise on practical means to minimize or reduce their negative safety and environmental impacts.
• Assist in designing and evaluating the health and safety requirements of Company’s facilities and ensure that all health and safety regulations are met through the provision of facilities services.
• Direct activities associated with the fire and safety programs and assess fire protection systems and life safety implications on Company’s facilities.
• Assist in the implementation of fire protection programs and procedures to ensure employee, client and facility safety in accordance with all governmental and international fire and life safety codes.
• Ensure property maintenance including building repairs and enhancements, security arrangements, storage management, are monitored and deficiencies are addressed in a timely manner.
• Assist with the development, implementation and reporting of periodical compliance testing of building equipment, operating manuals and systems.
• Ensure all Company facilities are safe, clean, secure and well maintained at all times.
• Execute emergency and disaster recovery plans as required.
• Assist in comprehensive audit and inspection programs to ensure compliance with Company’s safety and environment policies, procedures and best practices.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to find and correct potential hazards, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Ensure that HSE practices, policies and programs are implemented and aligned with best practices.
• Maintain up to date records for all inspections of Company facilities.
• Install, or oversee the installation of, safety devices on machinery.
• Investigate industrial accidents and injuries and develop plans to prevent them.
• Assist in the development of Company’s sustainability report.
• Remain up to date with HSE developments in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
• Assist in the development of HSE training courses when required.
• Actively follow and promote all Company policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks and duties that may be from time to time required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any other related field.
• A certification in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is preferable (e.g. CSP, CIH, etc.).
• Normally four years of relevant work experience.
• Computer proficiency/skills.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred.
