Basic Function:

The Academic Bridge Program Coordinator supports the department in managing the Academic Bridge Program aimed at providing new students with the knowledge and skills required to perform successfully at the level of a world class engineering university.

Worked Performed:

Coordinate the activities of the Academic Bridge Program based on the needs of new students and against the requirements of the Company coursework level and ensure effective learning programs are being delivered.
Organize Academic Bridge Program activities to ensure that assigned programs comply with Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Coordinate the implementation of the academic plan as it relates to the Academic Bridge Program and promote programs that are innovative, cost effective and consistent with high standards.
Assist in preparing Academic Bridge Program plans and description and coordinate with the Registrar’s Office.
Collaborate with Engineering and Arts & Sciences departments to determine the needs and minimum requirements for students in order to identify which students would be required to complete the preparatory level courses.
Organize and follow up on the design and development of English language and Math courses in coordination with the department of Arts & Sciences as appropriate.
Maintain the relationship with external institutions for the design and development of modules used in preparatory courses as appropriate.
Contribute to evaluating the validity and reliability of placement tests to determine whether the results reflect the actual proficiency levels of new students.
Collaborate with faculty to understand whether students who complete the academic bridge program have achieved the required level of knowledge, skills and abilities required to achieve a degree.
Contribute to evaluating the effectiveness of Academic Bridge Program by determining the academic improvement of students before and after completing the program; identify potential weaknesses and aim to improve the program through academic tracking of the students.
Participate, when required, in strong internal and external communities to support the school’s success.
Bring visibility to the Academic Bridge Program academic bridge program accomplishments of the university both within and outside the campus.
Foster a culture of the highest ethical standards, compliance with external and internal policies and procedures, regulations, and effective business practices in the university.
Represent the interests of the Company to various constituencies both within and outside of the Company community, and participate in campus-wide shared governance processes.
Lead, coordinate and support the professional development of staff and faculty.
Perform other tasks and duties that may be, from time to time, required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the university.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
Minimum two years of experience in a related area in the field.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative environment is required.
Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills; can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic.
Enthusiastic and energetic about the Company’s mission to provide high quality engineering and science professionals through a continued commitment to excellence.
Ability to nurture collaborative approaches to problem solving.
Computer proficiency/skills.
Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred.
