Production Engineer

Basic Function:
• Coordinates and supervises offshore operations activities in the preparation and development of pre commissioning and commissioning operation, develops Maintenance and Integrity (OMI) Philosophy for New Fields Project in close co-ordination with project management team (PMT) & New Fields team and subsequent updates. Acts as Operation Representative to represent NF Operations Team in the (PMT) and ensures New Fields Division interests and expectations are fully addressed / represented / covered and assured in all aspects of the project and throughout project life cycle, in line with Value Assurance Process (VAP)
• Works Cover ( Abu Dhabi HQ, Site Offshore, & Other Consultants' Offices, UMM LULU PH-1 operated from UAD, UMM LULU FFD stand alone operation, NASR PH-I operated from USFD, NASR FFD stand alone operation, SARB Stand alone operation )
Worked Performed:
• Provides technical / operational support to Project Operations Support Team, Site Operation Team, Utility and Maintenance teams, To ensure continuous, efficient and safe operations by: Preparing, Reviewing and updating operating procedures and develops special procedures for non-routine jobs in new fields facilities.
• Validates and provides wells availability status to Field Development Division-NF and review the production allowable and well performance data and provide to production personnel in NFD. Acts as a link between Site operation personnel and FDD-NF Engineers on day-to-day well operations activities including; well testing and pressure and logging surveys. Supervises the acquisition of technical data for maximizing the efficiency of production/ injection systems and their operations. Ensures that field Development Division requirements are met.
• Monitors and follows up FEED/FEL stages, Pre-commissioning/Commissioning activities, and Operational Procedures. Reviews Operating Manuals, Process Drawings, Data Sheets etc. for necessary comments and updating. Reviews OPERGUID / Non-OPERGUID Procedures & develop supervisory procedures for trials and test runs. Reviews and approves shutdown isolation and pre-commissioning and commissioning work procedures.
• Provides support to future offshore operation in investigating specific production problems such as; increase/decrease of oil production and equipment modifications and recommends alternative courses of action.
• Reviews NF documents and monitors compliance and makes necessary updating. Maintains daily contacts with Project/Operations personnel to ensure proper scheduling of events, to give advice, troubleshoot problematic areas, recommends solutions for short-term implementation and investigate long-term solutions.
• Reviews and participates in process safety studies such as HAZOP, QRA, PHSER, Safety case, Hazardous Area Classification, safety Device Register, DARR etc.
• Performs other related duties such as: studying work methods/procedures, business cases, keeping records of all MOM’s, SLA’s, File Notes, & other documents, initiating PMR’s, and writing technical reports.
• Interprets and analyses non-routine feedback reports from the Field to ensure specified oil production targets are not interrupted. Justifies variances from set constraints such as; flow rate, gas/oil ratio, water cu, salt content etc. Identifies problem areas associated with production and specification such as; increase in salt content, malfunctioning of equipment and assists offshore personnel with remedial actions. Ensures production allocation reports (oil/gas and water) are continuously updated and maintains a proper record of well status. Ensures that Petroleum Engineering Division is advised of downhole problems.
• Reviews overall short/long term plans for the field development within parameters specified by FDD-NF.
• Knows the Company’s HSE policy, regulation and objective as they related to area of responsibility. Ensures by appropriate monitoring and reviews the work under his control is performed in a safe an environmentally sound manner.
• Participates in accident/incident investigations whenever requested. Conducts risk assessments of fields operations whenever necessary. Participates in studies/task forces required by management.
• Plans and participates in the ongoing training and development of assigned UAE National employees. Includes assessing employees training and development needs, directing the preparation of structured development / familiarization programs, monitoring and reporting on progress and counseling employees, as required. Prepares the capital and operating budgets whenever requested.
• Works in line with HSE policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 - 6 years experience in production and planning operations, project management for New Oil/Gas fields, 3 years of which should be I supervisory capacity on offshore location.
• Very good knowledge of English.
