Civil Supervisor

Basic Function:
• Provides work directions to assigned contractors and contract personnel performing civil maintenance and repair works on company which include Company owned and leased properties which include all office buildings and residential units in and outside Abu Dhabi City, Company HQ, Shaikh Khalifa Energy Complex {SKEC),Sas AI Nakhl Complex.
• The Petroleum Institute (PI), (ATI) at AI Shawamekh and Workshops, Satellite CI in as such as Habshan, Bu Hasa, Asab, Madinat Zayed and various other properties (owned/leased) in western region and other region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
• Inspects and ensures that such maintenance service is provided promptly, efficiently and in a cost effective manner.
• Inspects new buildings before lease and prior to renewal of lease.
Worked Performed:
• Provides work directions to assigned contractors performing civil building works/repairs, participates in maintenance works on company office buildings, housing complexes, residential buildings, flats and villas.
• Receives 'request for work' from company's personnel regarding civil building maintenance works to be carried out in office or residential premises and get these works done through contractors. Carries out inspection of major complaints, sets priorities and allocates work to contractors. Includes pro vi ding adequate instructions and technical guidance.
• Receives written/verbal instructions from Civil Engineer/Sr. Civil Engineer on the nature of works to be perform ed. If required, makes personal inspections to ensure that complaints are promptly and satisfactorily attended to.
• Answers technical queries of employees on the status of requested repairs and maintenance. Includes explaining company policy on alterations/additions and liaising with Housing & Recreation Services Department to ascertain services to be provided in leased properties allocated to Directors and other employees.
• Assists Civil Engineer in preparing maintenance programmes. Inspects/checks work progress and execution by contract personnel; reports on performance.
• Inspects workmanship and materials to used by contractors to ensure that they meet acceptable engineering standards, specifications and complainant's satisfaction, includes discussing variations to maintenance/repair requests and providing necessary technical instruction to contract personnel.
• Inspects company owned and leased properties, assesses requirements for maintenance, alterations and additions. Assists Civil Engineer in the preparation of technical specifications and drawings; reports as necessary.
• Visits newly leased properties, checks same, liaises with the landlord or his authorised agent regarding repairs/modifications required to be undertaken, as per the tenancy agreement
• Maintains records of all repairs and civil maintenance performed in company office
premises/residential buildings/leased buildings/villas.
• Checks invoices submitted by contractors to determine accuracy and fairness of charges on minor repairs, submits invoices to Civil Engineer for approval.
• Performs other related duties, such as observing fire and safety regulations, participates in the preparation of technical specifications for tender, evaluating quotations for minor works, coordinating works with Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Sections relating to civil and building maintenance work.
Minimum Requirements:
• Completion of Preparatory (10 years) education followed by a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering discipline from a recognised Polytechnic institute.
• 5 years' professional experience in civil maintenance and repair works in multi-storied buildings/villas. Should have adequate knowledge in plumbing and drainage System.
• Good knowledge of English.
