Basic Function:
• Technical Authority on all Industrial Hygiene aspects across the Company. Develop and provide necessary advice on all aspects of Industrial Hygiene involving Company’s Operations.
• Develop & Manage Industrial Hygiene related inspections and surveys of all operational sites and Abu Dhabi Company establishment.
• Recommend necessary and corrective actions to comply with Company and Local Guidelines/Codes of Practice/Regulations and best industrial practice to ensure that occupational risks are eliminated or minimized.
Worked Performed:
• Develops in-house Industrial Hygiene (IH) Guidelines and procedures
• Develops, manages and conducts Industrial Health and Occupational Hygiene inspections in all work locations at regular intervals, submits report with suitable recommendations for remedial measures.
• Carries out assessment of Industrial Health Risks created by ongoing operating conditions, handling hazardous materials including chemicals, noise, vibration, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, improper illumination, ergonomic factors, and heat stress.
• Ensures that proper written procedures exist for maintenance, examination and testing of all health and Industrial Hygiene related matters to reduce or eliminate the hazards.
• Develop & manages all IH necessary monitoring programs.
• Inspects, surveys and prepares reports and trend analysis on IH issues to prevent and control health risks factors and follow-up on their implementation.
• Prepares training program guidelines and conduct periodic training on relevant Industrial Hygiene subject for company and contractor employees.
• Coordinates with medical staff an cooperate general services as and when required on Industrial Hygiene related matters.
• Ensures that correct Industrial Hygiene records are maintained and updated as required including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSD).
• Prepares guidelines and conducts follow-up monitoring of pest control procedures, approval of related chemicals and materials, and implementation schedules.
• Manages program to Inspect Company hired marine vessels/barges for all industrial health and occupational hygiene risk factors and recommend corrective measures.
• Carries out regular inspections of all food, beverage (including potable water), kitchen areas, and other common areas (including swimming pools) for proper hygiene and recommend necessary improvement actions.
• Maintains corporate Register for radio Active materials used on operations and ensures proper updates are carried out.
Minimum Requirements:
• B.Sc. or equivalent with relevant post graduate accredited certifications on Industrial Hygiene or Occupational and Health from any recognized university, with 10 years full-time related experience in an oil, chemical process, or similar industry.
• Works under broad assignments and operates independently within overall Company Policies and procedures.
