Contracts Engineer

Basic Function:
• Provides functional support to the US and Nasser Asset Business Unit for all contractual and commercial activities.
• Advises Vice Presidents, Managers, Team Leaders, Section Leaders and Job Officers on commercial, contracts and service order related issues of the divisions, to ensure compliance to Shareholders' and Company instructions / guidelines / policies / procedures and best practices.
• Acts as Business Unit focal point and liaises with CD and HRD (for service contracts only) on all contract and commercial issues.
Worked Performed:
• Acts as the single point of contact for support, advice and expertise on all commercial, contracts and service order related issues of US/NSABU and interact with various Divisions within ZKABU and UL/SARBAU, CD, LID and HRD.
• Interfaces with the Vice Presidents, Managers, Team Leaders, ROs, Financial Controllers and associated CD and HRD (for service contracts only) representatives on behalf of US/NSABU of on all contracts and commercial issues from strategy selection through contract completion.
• Participates and advices in the preparation of contracts strategy for all contracts and service orders of US/NSABU to ensure compliance to company and shareholder guidelines, implement ability, availability of alternate options, compatibility with long-term strategies, consolidation of services with other BUs.
• Reviews the commercial content of the scope of work and coordinates with CD in preparation of strategy, tendering schedule, bidder list, evaluation procedures for all contracts of US/NSABU.
• Coordinates the timely completion of the technical evaluation of the bids. Attends the Tender Board meetings with the VP/Manager (if required). Checks and endorses in Maximo, all CR, Contract Releases, Services orders and amendments pertaining to US/NSABU to ensure compliance to contracts provisions, Company and Shareholders instructions/guidelines/policies/procedures and best practices.
• Monitors the contracts of US/NSABU for their integrity, validity and compliance to Company and Shareholder guidelines regarding renewal/re-tending and other areas of concern like payments, cost and expenditure control.
• Advises Vice Presidents, Managers, Team Leaders, Job Officers and Financial Controller on contract administration including clarifications and interpretations, contracts variations for ensuring compliance with contact terms & conditions and Company policies.
• Acts as key member of Technical and Commercial bid opening team for Service Order tenders within US/NSABU. Acts as the Commercial Focal Point for the processing the Maximo Contract amendment for variations. Represents US/NSABU whenever required, in respect of post-Contract Administration, clarification, negotiations, variation and dispute resolution.
• Analyses and reviews various reports received from CD, FD and Internal Audit Division regarding contracts and payments to identify areas of concern, propose and coordinate alternate options/mitigation measures with Job Officers, Team Leaders and Managers.
• Advices and provides inputs to ROs and Financial Controllers in preparation of their budgets.
• Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best and contribute effectively as a Team.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Civil / Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• 5 - 6 years' experience in contracting activities of which the majority should have been related to offshore oil & gas industry. Specific experience and exposure to terms and conditions of contractors for a variety of works/services for offshore oil & gas production like operation and maintenance of equipment, repair/refurbishment of equipment/facilities, modifications/upgrades, blanket/call-out services, Inspection/NDT services, hiring of equipment services, manpower/consultancy services, EPC contracts.
• Proficient in English Language with good communication skills.
